Nerone wins Farr 40 Fleet  and Boat of the Week honors

Congratulations to Massimo Mezzaroma and Antonio Sodo Migliori's Nerone  for winning class and overall Boat of the Week honors! Nerone went into the final day of racing just three points ahead of Giovanni Maspero's Joe Fly and won both races to secure the title.

Doug Douglass' Goombay Smash had final day finishes of seven and two to finish 2nd. Joe Fly fell to 3rd, which was still good enough to earn them the combined Key West and  Miami Acura Series title for the fleet.  Jim Richardson's Barking Mad and Vincenzo Onorato's  Mascalzone Latino, finished 4th and 5th respectively.

Over the next few weeks, traveling members of the fleet will ship to the Med.  There they will be joined by additional Class members, many of whom have been training over the winter in preparation for the spring season leading up to the Rolex Farr 40 Worlds at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in June. First stop on the European circuit will be Porto Rotondo in late April, followed by Rolex Capri Sailing Week in May.

The class has held International Sailing Federation recognised class status since 1997.

The Rolex Farr 40 World Championships is the pinnacle event of the calendar. Featuring the highest level of competition with the Olympic, America's Cup and Volvo Ocean Race Veterans amongst this strictly Owner/Driver Class.
