1. Organizing Authority
1.1 The Organizing Authority will be the Farr 40 Class Association in conjunction with the Organizing Authority of each Event of the Series.
1.2 The Headquarters will be the Headquarters of the Farr 40 Class Association

2. Events Calendar (racing days)

1. Quantum Key West Race Week January 16 - 20
2. Miami March 7 - 10
3. Annapolis May 24 - 27
4. Newport (Rolex North Americans) July 4 - 7
5. Chicago (Pre-Worlds) September 14 - 15

 

3. Eligibility 3.1 To qualify as an official competitor of the US Circuit the following requirements shall be met:
•Fulfill the requirements of this Notice of Race and the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions of each Event of the Series;
•Current membership of the Farr 40 Class Association
•Enter and compete in Event # 4 Rolex North Americans

4. Rules
4.1 The following rules shall govern the Series:
a) The Racing Rules of sailing (RRS), 2009-2012;
b) The Farr 40 Class Rules;
c) This Notice of Race and the Notice of Race of each Event of the Series;
d) The Sailing Instructions of each Event of the Series and any amendments thereto;

5. Language
5.1 English shall be the official language

6. Scoring
6.1 The Farr 40 US Circuit 2012 will be sailed in a series of 5 Events. 6.2 Boats sailing all 5 Events will count the scores for their best 4 Events 6.3 The low point system as described in low point Appendix A4 will apply. 6.4 RRS A4.2 will not apply. RRS A9 will be modified as follows: For a series that is held over a period of time longer than a regatta, a boat that entered the regatta and came to the starting area but did not start, did not finish, retired after finishing or was disqualified shall be scored points for the finishing place one more than the number of boats entered the regatta. A boat penalized under rule 30.2 or 44.3 shall be scored points as provided in rule 44.3(c). A boat that did not come to the starting area shall be scored points for the finishing place one more than the number of boats entered in the series.

7. Prizes
7.1 Prizes for 1st through 3rd places will be awarded at Chicago Yacht Club on September 15 following Event # 5 (Pre-Worlds)
