Annapolis, MD, USA - Ramrod leads the Fleet after Day One of the 2009 Sailing World NOOD

Favorite Rod Jabin's Ramrod with 5 points holds a 6 point lead in the Farr 40 fleet after Day One of the Sailing Worlds Annapolis NOOD.  In second is Mark Cloutier's Abracadabra with 11 points.  This is Abracadabra's second event in the boat, which unfortunately Mark is missing due to a family commitment.  The boat is helmed this weekend by longtime friend and crew member Pat Dion.  Lying third is Gary Beer's Sundance with 14 points, including a first place finish in Race 1, which was his first ever start in a Farr 40 One Design Fleet.

Porto Rotondo, Sardinia - European Circuit Series One - Lead changes three times on Day Two

Yesterday's leader Vincenzo Onorato's Mascalzone Latino who started the day with just two points finished sixth in today's first race and had their lead snatched by Massimo Mezzaroma and Antonio Sodo Migliori's Nerone Mascalzone  briefly regained the lead winning Race two of the day, only to see it disappear after an incident at the weather mark had them doing turns. This time Alessandro Barnaba's Fiamma took the win and moved to the top of spot.

Fiamma and Nerone are now tied on points with 14 each.  Mascalzone is currently two points back in third with 16 points.  In fourth is Helmut Jahn's Flash Gordon with 26 points.  Flash got off to a slow start is yesterday's light, fluky breeze, but began to find their stride today with two second place finishes. They're sitting 5th and are tied at on points with Alberto Rossi's Enfant Terrible.   Nipping at their heels with 30 points each are Hughes Lepic's Aleph and Marco Rodolfi's TWT - both of whom took the 2008 season off.   With a 1430 last warning time on Sunday the Race Committee aims to get racing off  on schedule tomorrow and hopes to add two more races to the event.  With no throw out and close racing - the title is definitely still up for grabs!
