Goombay Smash Wins!
Miami (USA) – After three days of racing off Key Biscayne in Miami Florida, William Douglass’ Goombay Smash has won the event. This is the second year in a row that Douglass has won this Anniversary Regatta, which in 2008 was also the Rolex North American Championship. Eight teams from four countries, Australia, Canada, Italy and the USA have been competing in the annual Farr 40 class event held every November in Miami.

It's another perfect day for racing in Miami. Race 8 started on time with 12 knots of breeze from 320 and the boats are sailing course 4, which is a 4 leg windward-leeward course.At the top, the first time around, Nerone led the fleet, followed by regatta leader Goombay Smash, Plenty, Groovederci,Flash Gordon, Estate Master, Barking Mad and Defiant.
At the leeward mark, Nerone has extended their lead. Goombay Smash and Plenty are still lying second and third, but behind them there have been a few changes. Estate Master has moved up to forth. Groovederci is now firth, followed by Defiant, Flash Gordon and Barking Mad.
Grooverderci is Boat of the Day on Day Two of the 12th Anniversary Regatta
After a picture perfect day of racing off Key Biscayne, Goombay Smash still holds the overall lead, but John Demourkas' Groovederci with race scores of 1- 3 -3 is Boat of the Day.
